Dananananakroyd – Black Wax
Another band out of Scotland (see also Frightened Rabbit) that is part indie pop, part post-hardcore. Have toured recently with Foals and Kaiser Chiefs. If your still saying their name, think “Batman TV Theme” and Dan Akroyd.
Debut album “Hey Everyone!” out now.
Broken Social Scene – Harbourfront 2009

On July 11th Broken Social Scene were due to play their famous almost yearly Toronto Island show, unfortunately due to a Toronto work strike they had to cancel. As BSS always seems to do, they got lemons and made champagne. To keep their strong fan base happy they decided on a free show at the Harbourfront stage. It is already being remembered as one of the greatest shows they have ever put on. As it became a makeshift This Is Your Life the crowd got as crazy as ever for their hometown band.
More after the jump including a fan shot mash up of Kevin Drew’s Safety Bricks and Feist’s I Feel It All…they’re dating btw!

This song has been out for a little while now but hasn’t found its way to a Sparkups post so I figured better late than never. It is a great feel-good summer song that will completely aggitate you when the gray clouds and snow of January rolls around. Anyways, enjoy the tune and here is a link to the torrent.
