WE ARE / ALWAYS RELEVANT.

Kanye is a douche

We all know that Kanye jumped on stage last night at the VMA’s and interupted Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech but no that’s not why he’s a douche. Instead I would like to point to the fact that he said Beyonce’s song Single Ladies was the best video to come out in the last 10 years.

Wait…you mean this song

Cause if you like it then you shoulda put a ring on it
If you like it then you shoulda put a ring on it
Don’t be mad once you see that he want it
If you like it then you shoulda put a ring on it

That’s what you think is the best song to come out in the past 10 years? Really?

I have to say I’m a little ashamed that no one jumped on the stage when Green Day beat out the Kings of Leon…that would have made the night.

Health – Die Slow

I’m not sure what’s going on here nor if I even like it. Twas post worthy.

Amy Millan – I Will Follow You Into The Dark (Deathcab Cover)

Amy

Amy Millan, of Stars and Broken Social Scene fame, just released her second solo album titled Masters of Burial on September 8th on the Arts & Crafts label and it features guest performances by Stars bandmate Evan Cranley, Leslie Feist and others. One of the three covers included on the album is the country, twanged-out version of Deathcab For Cutie’s classic love song, I Will Follow You Into The Dark. This one is for all you lovers out there…enjoy!

Fred Falke – Two Week’s (Grizzy Bear Remix)

With all of the technology available today it’s easy for any kid in his basement to grab the vocals to a song and lay them over some shitty house beat. That’s why I love it when I hear a work of art like this gem from Fred Falke for the song “Two weeks” by Grizzly Bear.

Falke started out as a bass player around 1995 before starting producing records in the late 90s. His first record, a collaboration with Alan Braxe named Intro, which sampled The Jets 1987 hit Crush On You, was released in 2000 on Vulture Music. The pair would form a very productive partnership up until 2008 when they went separate ways. Falke has also collaborated with France-based German producer, DJ and close friend Kris Menace, as well as having released records on Menace’s label Work It Baby.

Here is another great remix for the song Golden Cage by The Whitest Boy Alive.
