Faded Paper Figures – Metropolis

This one comes courtesy of my friend Devin (hope I spelled your name right!). We were chatting about music this weekend in NYC and he let me in on one of his bands called Faded Paper Figures out of southern California. They are a great stand in band for your Postal Service cravings. They sound very very similar and fill the niche that PS project left rather nicely. If only I had Ben Gibbard’s voice and a Casio keyboard.

k-os – I Wish I Knew Natalie Portman

To get it done I’m on the run

Neon Indian – Deadbeat Summer

Neon Indian is a band from Austin, Texas and Brooklyn, New York. The duo’s music is primarily composed by Alan Palomo, also known for his work with the band Ghosthustler and as the artist VEGA. The band’s other member is video artist Alicia Scardetta, who provides visuals to accompany the music.

Passion Pit – Sleepyhead

I had the pleasure off seeing Passion Pit last year in Boston. A phenomenal band with Buffalo roots, they’re definitely worth a listen.
