Shh don’t tell anyone but this is where I get a big chunk of my new music. Hush hush though because we don’t want any of these bands to get too popular though.

There’s absolutely nothing like having an ishy couple of days then coming home having a giant bowl of cookies and cream ice cream and seeing that one of your favorite bands has a new single out. Why do bands release singles two and a half months before releasing the full length?

What do you get when you mix the Black Keys with Jim Jones, Mos Def, ODB, Q-Tip, Raekwon and RZA? An epic album put together in 11 days and released on Damon Dash’s new independent label. I recommend you listen to Telling Me Things, Hard Times and Coochie – featuring everyone’s favorite ODB. Check out the BLAKROC website for videos and photos of the sessions. Ambling Alp is the first single off of Yeasayer’s follow up album All Hour Cymbals called Odd Blood, due out in February on Secretly Canadian records. This video has it all. from a wicked face massage to graphic nudity to horses. What more to you need in a video. Director “Radical Friend” was certainly high as a kite when directing this mind-f&@! of a video. That said, the song is a wonderful slice of psychedelic pop, much more edgy and interesting than the quasi-popular single “2080″ off All Hours Cymbals. Enjoy, its not often videos like this come around.
