Amy Millan – I Will Follow You Into The Dark (Deathcab Cover)

Amy

Amy Millan, of Stars and Broken Social Scene fame, just released her second solo album titled Masters of Burial on September 8th on the Arts & Crafts label and it features guest performances by Stars bandmate Evan Cranley, Leslie Feist and others. One of the three covers included on the album is the country, twanged-out version of Deathcab For Cutie’s classic love song, I Will Follow You Into The Dark. This one is for all you lovers out there…enjoy!

Broken Social Scene – Harbourfront 2009

bss

On July 11th Broken Social Scene were due to play their famous almost yearly Toronto Island show, unfortunately due to a Toronto work strike they had to cancel.  As BSS always seems to do, they got lemons and made champagne.  To keep their strong fan base happy they decided on a free show at the Harbourfront stage.  It is already being remembered as one of the greatest shows they have ever put on.  As it became a makeshift This Is Your Life  the crowd got as crazy as ever for their hometown band.

More after the jump including a fan shot mash up of Kevin Drew’s Safety Bricks and Feist’s I Feel It All…they’re dating btw!

Wilco – You and I featuring Feist

Feist and Jeff Tweedy

Wilco (The Album) includes the first duet to be featured on a Wilco album, “You and I”, which was recorded with Canadian indie folk singer Feist. The band met Feist at the 50th Grammy Awards and found they had a mutual appreciation for each others’ music.

I’m not really in love with this song but I felt I should post this. They really don’t showcase her voice…what does indie mean? Feist is on Interscope.
